"You greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials, that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ." 1 Peter 1:6-7

Changes in Ethiopia

We just got notice that, as of tomorrow, there are some changes in the adoption process in Ethiopia. Unfortunately, due to the fact that it is so difficult to obtain paperwork on children that have been abandoned or have no documentation of deceased parents, Ethiopia needs to spend more time evaluating each individual case. As a result, they are cutting down the number of adoptions that they do daily. They currently are processing up to 50 adoptions per day...and they are talking about processing more like 5 per day.

This change in the adoption system slows our process down dramatically. It is easy to get discouraged but then I have to remind myself how perfect God's timing is. If I trust Him with all things, than I have to trust that this is part of the big picture.

  1. What I know for sure is that no slow down in the Ethiopian adoption process is greater than the will of God! Every step of this process the Lord has opened doors, doors that seemed impossible (by human standards) to be opened!

The fact that you even found her is a miracle. The fact that your "non-fingertips" gave a readable fingerprint is a miracle. The fact that Sehin
knows she has a family who loves her is a miracle.

So I will be praying, as I have every day, that God will open this door as well!! I am so grateful for His continuing faithfulness in this journey!

Love you all to the moon and back!
    Nana
