"You greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials, that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ." 1 Peter 1:6-7

Beautiful Girl!

We got some pictures of Sihin from Ethiopia this week. I just love to see her smile. The agency director calls her a "tremendous young lady" I couldn't agree more!

Three Shades of Beautiful

It is amazing how her mind works. She says how much Zac looks like his dad and how much Jenna looks like her mom. But our hearts look the same... We all love Jesus!

"Fear not, for I am with you!"

I've been reading in Isaiah and am feeling renewed.

Isaiah 43: 13-19

Yes, and from ancient days I am he.
No one can deliver out of my hand.
When I act, who can reverse it?

This is what the LORD says-
your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel:
"For your sake I will send to Babylon and
bring down as fugitives all the Babylonians
in the ships in which they took pride.
I am the LORD, your Holy One, Israel's creator, your King."

This is what the LORD says-
he who made a way through the sea,
a path through the mighty waters,
who drew out the chariots and horses,
the army and reinforcements together,
and they lay there, never to rise again,
extinguished, snuffed out like a wick:

"Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.

I know that God can make a way through this situation...He is FAITHFUL!

Trip to Ethiopia

We had an amazing trip to Ethiopia! Overall, I would say that it was overwhelming. Overwhelmed by the amount of love we feel for Sihin and so saddened by the state of poverty that the country is facing. We were blessed though, to give what we could, to help.

The most eye opening experience was our trip to Korah, which is a local dump where families live. Missionaries built a small school which teaches children about Jesus. The children there were so excited to talk with Americans and they loved to have their picture taken, to practice their English and to hear about Jesus. I never knew how much this experience would change our lives and I cannot wait to go back!

Everyone, no matter what age, should go to do missions in a place like this... Jesus does mighty work through those who have a heart to help His people...it is life-changing!
